Computer Organization
Start your school year off right! It is important to keep your computer in neat working order. This means inside the computer and outside of it. You are to maintain a clean working area around your computer. Do not let random papers and garbage pile up around your computer. This will promote a positive and clean working environment.
You will need to create a folder within your SAMBA account. If you are not familiar with SAMBA, I will instruct you on what it is. Within your SAMBA folder, you will need to create a folder labelled "InfoPro". Within the "InfoPro" folder, you will want to have two sub-folders named "Complete" and "Incomplete". This will keep all of your files in neat working order.
We will examine using Google drive as a file backup as well.
Web Safety Basics
Our first order of business will be to look at how we can stay safe online. We will first have a short class discussion as to why it is important to practice safe habits when using your computer or any type of mobile device.
We will then look at a variety of scenarios that deal with staying safe online. Click the PDF below to access these scenarios. As you work through these scenarios, consider what we had discussed as a group.
Once we have discussed a variety of scenarios that deal with online safety and ethics, we will now examine some key terms that you will need to know going into the future with computers. Many of these terms may be familiar but you may need to research some of these terms to find the correct answer.
